johnnytheboy
I have a wee old bsa meteor and I'm trying to find a small practical scope to go on it that's in keeping with the guns size. I currently have a 4x20 in it but it's next to useless for letting light in the barn I shoot pigeons. Can anyone recommend one, preferably 3x9 or 2x7 magnification
oldypigeonpopper
hawke 3x9x40 hd and suitable for springers/ you can think of an AO model to but i would not bother in barns/ if less light get a red torch

jantar
For dim light you need a minimum of a 40mm with a magnification best suited to your target distance and own skill. From personal experience Inside large buildings, and in the field I use a 3 - 9 x 40 WR BSA (MilDot) Essential as my choice on my springer. Its advertised affordable cost, reliability, sharp focus and a good low light performance was well proven when used. Cheaper and lighter are the Riflescope models but the type of reticle put me off them.
