I went for a look round yesterday but knew I would probably end up back on the peas On one farm I must of put roughly 1000 birds up out of standing wheat I sat and watched them and they just flew to the other end of the huge field they were on Drove up to where they had dropped in and they just got up and flew back to where they were originally Knowing it would be difficult to shoot and not easy to pick birds I drove to the peas about half a mile away The pea field was not as busy as it had been but I set up and had 15 in a couple of hours Anyway getting onto the topic of this thread I've just breasted them out and found a mixture of green wheat, clover, peas and even a couple stuffed with cherrys Shows what a varied diet they have

Its amazing , I even had some with lead and steel in them last week

My peas have gone quiet again , the reason being I guess is that they have moved onto the cereals , I don't think there is anything they would rather eat.

I should have some peas cut today or tomorrow so may find a few on that , or at least there should be some crows .
