I'm still waiting for my licence to come through so it will be a long time before I entertain the idea of trying any but I got a bit confused with all the lingo, C class, AAA, registered shoots. V8 90 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Share Posted July 8, 2015 You first need to join the CPSA, then shoot registered 100 bird shoots at whatever disciplines you want, after the cutoff period that is listed on the CPSA website (next is end of November I think) you'll be classified according to your average scores per discipline during that qualifying period OR once you have shot 300 registered targets at a discipline you can ring the CPSA & ask for a Temporary classification for that discipline until the next "Cutoff". At the back of the mag is a section for the regions and countys. Go onto the CPSA website it will give you loads of info if you want to be competative,. from Auntie. Westward Posted July 9, 2015 Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 After joining CPSA as a full member (not clubman) and let's say you want to shoot sporting, you can go along to a reg shoot and book in. Tell them you're unclassified and shooting 'birds only' which means you're not eligible for any prize money but the entry will be £5 or so less. Your score will then be registered and you begin building an average. At the next classification date you will be placed in class according to your average although you can ask for a temp classification once you've registered 300 clays. The details of how the averages are claculated and the thresholds for classes are listed on the CPSA site and you can also lookup your current and historical scores and average at any time.
