Decisions decisions!! Part 2.

Well based on the awful weather forecast we plumped for the rape stubble, as we can drive to where we set up, so shelter was never far away. Arrived at 10 to probably 50-60 feeding anf set up under a large sycamore where the flightlines came together, and found I had left my seat bucket, containing the decoys in the garage :-(. Put the flapper out while I waited for reinforcements and started shooting almost straight away. Rain came 2 hours later, but the heavy foliage, camping stove and sausage sarnies meant we decided to brave it out. Well, I never thought they would, but the pigeons decided they were going to get wet and never stopped flighting all day, decoying really well as the pattern got bigger.

Rain cleared at 3ish and shot till we ran out of carts at 6 and the heavens opened. Dogs picked up well and 156 soggy pigeons are now drying out in the garage, along with dogs, guns, coats hats and everything else.

Motty I didn't technically run out of cartridges, I had another 100 in the truck but I didn't fancy trudging up the field and getting even wetter and it made a good "right that's it I'm going home" point!!

Normally I go home when it rains, have others stuck it out and got a decent bag?

No kennett is the short answer , I have stuck it out during showers and the odd thunderstorm after I have convinced myself it aint going to rain and ended up getting home soaked to the skin...........without a decent bag

Now luckily enough I don't have to go in the rain , I just wait till I get a dry day . :good:

Why thank you sir, makes up for the slight cock up on the barley stubble a fortnight ago. Set up the wrong side of the hill and "only" had 75, the farmer had a day baling hay stopped by rain 2 days later, set up the other end and shot over 100
