I was under the impression that the plastic wad in steel cartridges was to protect the barrel from scoring, I haven't seen any fibre wad steel cartridges. I think a company was in the process of making some biodegradable Plas wads, proberbly made from update or somthing. I could be wrong tho

Gamebore do a fibre shot cup steel load. It's expensive though. I'm looking at loafing my own.

Agree with that. Truth be told I quite fancy reloading but these shells do a perfect job. I'd probably rather a slightly smaller shot size for teal but the 3's cover everything from higher ducks to close geese well.

The last 2 seasons I have been using the 36gr 4's when out over flashes/decoys or expecting a good teal flight. But as normal when you expect Teal all that flights is Mallard or Wigeon! I have been very impressed with them and had some really good birds using them, so much so I will be using them for a good bit of my fowling this year.

I will still use the 3's for flighting Mallard and when the ranges are likely to be a little long.

Always the way.. Expect one thing and get another

Gamebore have always used US SIZES for steel shot .

US sizes bigger? Kind of academic as I haven't had any problems but interesting to know
