Scored a double...

Out again yesterday on my woodland patch looking to get some cull bucks before they will dissapear , after the rut.

Decided to change the pattern a bit so i didn't rush it this time, i got on the ground at about 10am, looking forward to try a Hubertus roe call i've got as a present from a friend. I was quite confident in it as my practice sessions indoors brought my partner, my cat, and my neighbours to despair...

I started in a ancient pine woods, on the edge of a young plantantion and to my surprise after only a few calls, the first buck came at quite a speed, stopped it with a bark at around 40 yards and down he went after a perfect heart shot.

At this point i was well pleased and very confident in the call so i decided to give it another go. Changed position somewhere few hundred yards away, on a known deer run cross , with a good 50 yards visibility in front, and started calling again. After 10-15 minutes i saw movement in front, gave it a few more peeps from the Hubertus and he came all the way to 10-15 yards in front of me, the .270 struck hard at that distance and number 2 was on the deck.

Considering the warm weather and the amount of flies around, decided to call it a day.
