tigger got stichs
simple Q+A are they any good? [ in .22 ]
wraivi
Reviews are good, I have the AT44, and it is brilliant, check out the hatsan airgun owners forum, plenty about them there. I am tempted, kirklees guns up north are flogging them at a bargain of £289!
Marki
kirklees guns up north are flogging them at a bargain of £289! Good price. How good is the synthetic stock? I've had a Mod 105 & 75 in synthetic and they do seem to resonate.
wraivi
I have synthetics on both my AT44 & XTH85, both are fine, no resonance that I experienced. Not yet fired a galatian though.
Marki
Very tempted for the money. Not sure why they are almost £200 cheaper than the walnut stock version? What relevance is the Model 3 & mod 4.
wraivi
Cant remember immediately, but seems to be based on a variation in wood, synthetic stocks, shrouded and non shrouded barrels and with or without open sights.
Marki
Thanks. I'll have to do a bit of research.
chrisjpainter
I believe Secret Agent Mole has one. No doubt he'll be along to advise sooner or later, but if not, drop him a pm
Marki
Thanks Chris. A friend of mine has one and loves it. Price at Kirklees just seems massively different to the others.
Marki
Cant remember immediately, but seems to be based on a variation in wood, synthetic stocks, shrouded and non shrouded barrels and with or without open sights. Found this. Answers the question.
wraivi
Cheers for the details, I really like the option of open sights, sorely tempting.
Marki
I've listed a couple of my guns for sale and emailed kirlees just to be sure. If they are in stock for that price I'm having one.
secretagentmole
Just make sure you deping it!
Marki
Bottle brush at the ready! Is yours the Walnut or synthetic? Still waiting for a reply from Kirklees. My fault, should have phoned.
secretagentmole
Bottle brush at the ready! Is yours the Walnut or synthetic? Still waiting for a reply from Kirklees. My fault, should have phoned. Now got a walnut rifle, had a synthetic carbine, I just prefer wood stocks, but the synthetic was ok! Present Previous. Marki
I finally got one. A bonus was that a local shop said they would match the price. Well done Leek Shooting Supplies! Only bit I'm a little confused on is which model I actually have. I'm not 100% sure it is the carbine? It has open sights and doesn't have a shroud on the barrel, just a removable cap. Instructions are not great, but I guess they don't have to be. What is this for? Just need to check the thread on the barrel and I'll sort out a moderator. Very please so far. secretagentmole
Hatsan Galatian 4 rifle, sporter stock, no silencer. So no, it is not the Carbine. But a decent silencer and deping it will make it whisper quiet! You can have fun with no scope due to the open sights! That brass cap is to remove air from the cylinder on the gun, simply unscrew the cylinder, screw in the hex slug and put it on the cylinder and tighten it up and the air will come out. A 17mm spanner will see you removing the valve, then a bottle brush up the cylinder, tighten it up and refill with air! Marki
Cheers Matey. Even more happy now. Absolute bargain in my mind for the rifle. I should be able to get a silencer in a week or so. Open sights are fun and surprisingly accurate.
secretagentmole
They are nice guns to use as well. Anti double load mechanism, the Quattro trigger (which though not as nice as a Rekord in an HW are very good, undo the trigger adjuster screw closest to the barrel half a turn clock wise, same to the middle screw. The last screw can almost be removed, just go careful when doing that though (don't want to lose it). Makes the trigger very predictable, Just remember keep a count of the turns you make so if you do not like the feel you can set them back to standard. secretagentmole
If in Huddersfield, got to Kirklees Guns, £289.... Less than a Daystate service charge....
Marki
secretagentmole, more of of interest than anything else but which silencer did you fit? I tried one I had lying around and it seemed a loose fit on the gun. Threw the aim right out.
secretagentmole
I am using a Phoenix by Pax of London. Have you any silencers on any of your other guns you can swap over?
Marki
Nope, I sold most of them. I'm considering going to the gun shop today to see what they have. I did 'tweak' this one on my lathe and it improved the accuracy no end, I think I may have found out why it was left lying around the garage!
