Stock protector

I came up with an idea to help protect the forend wood stock/s on my rifles. I wanted something to protect them from scratches, and could be attached/removed easily. In the past, I have used self cling camo bandage, but if it got wet, I had to unravel it to dry it out. So, by using some A4 paper, I wrapped it around the stock and over the barrel, which gave me my template/s. It was measured with the bipod fitted.

I contacted Mel b3 on here, and commissioned his good wife Lin, to make two leather ones for me. I received them this morning, and they are perfect. The rifles that they are fitted to are a CZ 527 American (.22 Hornet) and a CZ 527 Varmint (.17 Hornet)

I'm well pleased with the result and would like to thank Lin for taking the time to make them for me. If anyone else is interested in these, then contact Mel b3.

These protectors are a perfect fit for the above rifles, and may or may not fit other makes/models.

My thanks to Mel and Lin. :good:

I see how it works now steve, they look pretty good mate.

Its given me a good idea of having one of those protectors with a padded bottom for shooting from the window of the 4x4.

Yes, it should work well. And there's room for me to insert something padded to aid with the protection, should I require it. To be honest, I don't rest the rifle on anything hard, and I normally use a homemade padded cushion (bank cloth money bag) when resting it on a wall or similar. But the protector/s will give them a little bit more protection. :good:
