RossEM Posted August 27, 2015 Report Share Posted August 27, 2015 I would exercise caution with using steel shot in a Winchester 23. They were purposely made (as all Winchester shotguns of the 1960s-70s-80s) with thin barrel walls. Standard steel would be absolutely fine, but I wouldn't use HP steel in it.
