HELP- rws scimitar

I'm assuming this is a new problem and that it has been shooting fine prior to this?

the usual things to check would be the energy, the seals the barrel seating, the silencer and the scope. The Scimitar's a floating barrel gun isn't it? These tend to be more susceptible to the odd knock to the barrel throwing the accuracy and the same goes for a knock the the silencer. Seals going can also affect the accuracy.

Any of those a possibility?

not sure if this is new problem or not as it is not my gun, the gun lives in a workshop so most probably be knocked around a few times. tried zeroing the scope with no luck. taking the silencer off makes the accuracy even worse. and yes it is a floating barrel. the gun has a lever on it to be able to change the power settings but get the same results with the power different power settings. not sure about seals dont really have the knowledge on checking these.

  • 2 weeks later...

If its shooting too hot (higher fps) with a pellet which is too light it loses its aerodynamic stability and the pellets will spiral in mid flight and group like a 12g.

It could also explain why taking the moderator off makes it worse as there is less length to the barrel arrangement for the air pressure to drop,,meaning it leaves the airgun with a higher pressure behind it.

Ted from the Youtube channel Teds Holdover demonstrates this issue best with a hw100 at i think it was 25ftlbs

Without watching you shoot this target, neither I nor anyone on this forum can accurately give an answer. It could be a problem with the rifle, equally it could be operator error. Out of all the principals of marksmanship, the one I emphasise is: the rifle MUST point naturally at the the target.

Bench the gun and send 3 shots down range! If they group its your scope!

If they are just as bad check the barrel is clean, check the muzzle and see if the crown has been damaged! Try changing pellets,

If all that is ok, then perhaps an issue with variation power spikes? Seals?

Start with the obvious
