Side Lever loaders

Love the S510! side action was super-smooth and I found I could do the cocking action with much more subtle movements than rear bolt guns. The only slight problem was that I used to push this too extremes - a couple of times i'd do the cocking action with such small, slow movements that the gun wouldn't register the cock. My fault as I was trying to do absolute bare minimum! I have a rear bolt now, but it's through no fault of the side lever's actions.

I like both aforementioned air rifles. Though in truth the HW 100K is simply to heavy for my liking. If it was sub 3kg l'd seriously consider getting one. I like the looks of the 410/510. I also like the idea of a side loading lever.

l've had a reshuffle of my shotguns, now l've a "small itch" regards air rifles. Hope it's a passing phenomenon. I blame it on me buying the 2015 airgun buyers guide .. more reading is required l think lol .. atb

HW 100 could never be described as a lightweight hunter. And when the night vision kit goes on it, plus scope & IR torch, its a fair old weight to lump around farm fields. I really like the HW 100. As mentioned, but for the weight, l'd leap at one.

I'm only toying with the idea of swapping rifles presently. I'm pleased with my Ultra. Might get it regged, undecided.

l know l kicked off with two side levers as a comparison, but! ... l also like the FX T12 & FX Cyclone.

Was shooting on a range today and some poor chap had a massive pressure drop in his AA 400. It leaked when he withdrew the bolt. He also had a second rifle R10. He mentioned he'd had problems with it and it had been back to BSA a few times. Felt sorry for the bloke. That said "all pcp air rifles" leak or are going to one day, just by their very nature, relying on 0 rings.
