Finding stuff in the field.

Just been touched on in a thread of a similar title; as opposed to losing, what have you found in the field?

Apart from live ammo on MOD range I haven't found anything, but a mate found a Leatherman multi tool in the side of the road when out shooting. It was well used to the extent it was loose in the joints. He sent it to the manufacturers and asked it be tightened up; they sent him a brand new one in return! Jammy sod!

I found a Victorinox knife once under a hedge right behind a good pigeon decoying spot. It must have been there a few years and was not in great condition, the yellow handle gave it away and the rust cleaned up OK.

Found porn

Found a scooter (I am guessing stolen - Police informed)

Find drugs kit often in gateways

Found couples exploring each other

Found .22 rf ammo

When I was a lot younger myself and two freinds found a dead tramp, does that count?

Did you send him away to get tightened up and get a fresh new tramp in his place?

Only if he was in a field. I suppose it was pointless going through his pockets?

Could still have been worth it, he may have found that ruby and gold Rolex from the other thread....... :)

Edit: On a more serious and slightly poetic note I shall add that I have often found rare moments of genuine serenity whilst sitting in a field, sadly often balanced up with despondency at acrobatic pigeons who can avoid 30g or so of high speed lead with apparent ease.

Not found anything interesting of any particular note or shininess in a field, but I did find a particularly good neolithic flint arrowhead in my flower bed.

I've found some ww2 shell casings, 20mm out of a spitfire or hurricane, .303 rifle casings. A old beer bottle down a rabbit hole from a local, long since closed brewery with the cork still rattling around in the bottle. And a sea trout in the middle of a stubble field about a mile away from any water course. Probably dropped by a otter or something. Other than that just the usual steamed up cars down back lonings at 2 in the morning while lamping :)

I found a Omega Seamaster a year or so ago, on a footpath through a field. I took it to the police station, no one claimed it so I sold it online for £350, I think.

As kids we would find lots of WWII ammo, motar tails and bomb fragments on the South Downs. We were once given a deactivated hand grenade by the mod bomb disposal team after several visits to blow up various UXBs my dad ploughed up.
