shot 2 pigeons this weekend with white growths around beak and in the throat almost completely blocking it off has anybody seen this before or know what it is, i didnt risk sending to game dealer.

Yes, and I was told it was "pigeon canker" whatever that might be......

I shot around 30 pigeons on a session last week and a good few were quite bloody at the throat where the food goes in from the crop. One had a real mushy chest the food in its crop must have been there for ages as it was solid and rank and def was not going anywhere it must have been starving to death so I done it a favour tbh. I also noted that the chest flesh had little white rice like marks on it.... Very unhealthy specimen.
