I'm after the tamron 150-600mm. can I presume by the term '600' you mean this or the equivalent sigma lens? they are superb pictures and really want to get into this sort of wildlife photography. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dave

These were taken with a canon 600 mm lens and whilst the tamron lens is ok it will not give you the above quality, Google canon 600 mm lens to see the difference in price

Zoom lenses give you versatility but sacrifice quality

Good luck and if I can help you give me a shout

Hi Doc thanks for replying.

I can imagine the difference in price will be by quite a few figures. Would it be more beneficial to buy Canons 400mm f5.6 lens because that isn't too much more than the tamron but 200mm less?

Cheers doc,

Dave

The 5.6 is ok I have one but its not in the same bracket as say the 300 2.8, but again its all down to price, go onto the photography web sites such as talk photography and have a look for one second hand there are lots on there, the new canon 100 to 400 II is coming out with some good results and would probably be the best buy of the non prime lenses, (make sure it is the new II version the 1 was about the same as the 400 5.6

Thank you very much for the advice. It is defiantly a price thing. I'm due to be going to a photography show on Sunday so I will have a look at the lenses I'm interested in :)

atb,
