Mate has duplicate 22-250 (or did for a while)

Know of a couple of others

I had a few duplicate calibers with them (.22, 30-06)

BUT I also know of an RFD that had a WW2 .303 & a WW1 .303....& wanted a Boer War .303 (on his own FAC....he already had it on his RFD books)

SEVERAL WEEKS PASS.....the answer is given: you can have a tthird .303 but you cannot have any ammunition for it...!!!

It should not be an issue if you have "good reason" ... 22lr they seem to be less fussy, there are some on here that have about 1/2 a dozen. I have duplicate 22.250 one set up solely for night vision and the other,,, well I cant possibly use that in the dark :)

Cheshire area is the same as most areas about duplicate calibers , 22lr duplicates ok to a point ! , but other calibers your very lucky to get duplicates of them , good reason or not . Im happy with what i am allowed . My FEO on a recent visit made comment that he was surprised that the FLO had allowed duplicates in all of my calibers , So it appears not to be the norm .

Then they need to be edumacated! What you are allowed is clearly dictated by the Home Office NOT the FEO

I lived in Northumberland now North of the wall

At any one point I have had 3x .270 all bolt action, 4 x .22lr (semi, 2x long barrel BA, short barrel BA in addition to HMR, WMR and .17M2 rimfire),

2x.222 (BA and single shot) , 2x .30cal both bolt action

including calibres that could be deemed at overlapping in .243

Good reason is good reason

Action style

Night vision

Change of duty (close quarters woods, long range moorland)

Change of loads pigs and deer, fox and deer

etc etc

you need to work on your reasons
