nice syndicate day friday 9 of us 232 head pigeons everywhere cant get on it till feb. saturday morning rain, me and mate hate shooting in the rain, 10 oclock chucked guns and carts in the car thought we would just have a look round in the rain no deeks or kit thought may be we might get an evening flight, about 12oclock we went to a new perm with a 6 field block 250 acres of rape and the pigeons were all over it, still raining and a 40 mile an hour wind we could have got under a flight line but my mate had no waterproofs or wellies. the weather forecast for sunday was clear sky and up to 70 mile gusts so we decided to go sunday instead, i had to take the Mrs out for a meal to sweeten her up so i could have 3 days on the trot. got to the field sunday early 20 mile wind not 70 and a bit of rain again and wind direction s / east instead of saturdays s/west the pigeons were still there but only flighting across to a wood on the boundary and dropping down on the rape just over the boundary which is one of our perms but a pheasant shoot. if we could have got in the hedge on the boundary we would have been directly under the flight line but i know the farmer wouldnt be too pleased.just had a call from my mate who is watching the fields and he says there are 1000 plus pigeons going on it today in the same place as saturday which is a field away from the boundary and the pheasants we are going to leave it till friday to shoot and hope the farmer dont see them and put a gas gun out.SHOULD HAVE GOT WET SATURDAY just cant get it right lately. back to work monday it blew a gale.3 days a week is not enough.

I always take my fishermans umbrella when I set up problem solved, get one.

didnt expect to get out of the car havent seen any pigeons for weeks, got 2 umbrellas took 1 sunday just in case but the wind direction change put them somewhere else, only a few 100 yds but made a lot of difference
