Pulsar EPS 3 battery pack

I bought the above battery pack together with a N750A scope. When it arrived, I connected it straight onto the scope and it worked well. I went to charge the battery pack with the mains plug today, but can't find it. To be honest, I don't remember seeing it in the box that the battery came in, but it's too late now.

I've made enquiries about purchasing a replacement charger, but have been told that they are not available to buy. The battery came with a 'female' cigarette lighter type plug. but not a 'male' one. I'm now stuck with a flat battery. Would it be okay to unsolder the leads on the female plug, and connect them to a male one, so that I can at least charge the battery from my car? Also, would connecting the +/- leads that are on the plug, directly to a good quality battery charger (or trickle charger) do any harm to the battery itself?

don't do it!!!!

the female is to power other things from the battery.

lithium polymer batteries require special chargers - else they have a tendancy to blow up

This what was 'supposed' to be in the box when I bought the battery.

Battery Pack EPS3 | Mains Charger Unit 110 … 220 V | Extension Cord PR-002A - PP3-002A (1 m) | Car Adapter (2.1 mm DC Socket) | EU-US Plug Adapter | Adapter for devices with a 1/4" socket | User manual | Warranty Card

Is there any way I can get this battery charged? Otherwise I've thrown £74 down the drain.

let me have a look at mine when i get home (away on a job at the mo), and i'll see what the charger is

Thank You. As mentioned, as far as I'm concerned, the charger wasn't in the box, but it's too late to contact the seller now.

It states that there is a Car Adapter. (2.1mm DC Socket) I thought that this type of socket would allow the battery to be charged from the vehicle (?) :hmm:

When I came to charge my NiteSite battery, I was confronted with 2 male connections. When I got an EPS3, I was able to charge the NiteSite battery with its charger. I'm not sure what you are supposed to do with the 'female' car socket. I've got two now, because I got a second EPS3 for the Digisight.

As the charger is lost (or never received in the first place) I have no way of charging my EPS3 battery. It's more or less useless now. I need to get a charger, but that means I would have to by a complete EPS3 kit. If you ever want to sell one of your chargers, let me know.

I anticipated that reply, not at present, I want to sell the NiteSite, so might have to put the EPS3 charger with it to make it sell.

There is a 12.6V 1.0A Li-ion charger on Ebay for £5.35 from Hong Kong. Also a car charger for £2.69. The jack plug is probably a standard size, but someone else will know for sure.

I'll check them out. I'm afraid to buy anything to be honest, in case it burns the battery out. I can see me buying a new EPS3 battery in the new year.

As I mentioned, when I took the battery out of the box, I connected it straight away to the scope, and was pleased to see that it was charged. It was only when I went to charge it the other day, that I noticed that the charger was missing. Too late to complain to the supplier now. Annoying to say the last.

I did exactly the same with the NiteSite, hardly used it, didn't even flatten the battery, and when I had a look(2 years later), it wouldn't connect. To be honest, I've got so many plug-in chargers about the place, I might have put the wrong one in the box, butI can't find one with a female connector. Anybody with a NiteSite listening?
