First Time Results With Eley Subs

I've not had much time recently due to work commitments so have not been out in the evenings since the end of the summer.

I popped out earlier this evening with my .22 and night vision along with Eley Subs as bought some a while ago as lots of people swear by them. so thought I would give them a go.

The breeze was not really in my favour but saw a few rabbits about and managed to bag a couple, both were approx 75 yards. 1 Mil dot of hold over and over they went.

so 2 shots and 2 kills with my new choice of bullets, and some food for the freezer.

Well done bud, Eley's work for me too. Looks like an evo 20 atop your rifle. I use one on anything up to and including my .222.

it sure is Tonker, it's still doing the business when I manage to get out.

cracking bit of kit made by a true gent.

well done nice couple bunnies ive recently swapped to eley subsonics from winchesters there much more consistant through chrono and group much tighter recent winchesters are all over place and group loosely with few wild flyers

I've tried winchester previously in my 452 and didn't go much on them. although they are OK through my semi auto.

been using CCI for a while and have no real complaints with them but I'm always reading how good Eley are so bought a couple of hundred to see how they are.

The eley are spot on in my anschutz. Shame about the awful box they come in. A new design with a sliding top would be better than that sticky label that holds the top on. Great bullet though, very consistent and accurate. And they smell so good....

couldn't agree more about the box they come in. I've put mine in an old cci box

Nice shooting! :good: I don't know if the Winchesters have changed now, but i'm just coming to the end of a decent size batch of Winney's. I love the huge hole in the hollow point, and they seem to hit them harder than my Eley's or Remington's do. They hit quarry with a very distinct louder noise, totally unlike the other makes. Fortunately all 3 makes mentioned are very accurate in my .22lr.

Hi

I just got rid of my eley subs as they did not work for me.

I found that the eley were a bit more accurate with a paper target but I found that they were just passing though the quarry

The winnys have better stopping power in my gun.

Glad there working for you and good shooting.

I went out this afternoon for a wander and set up a target and the groupings I got were the best I've seen through my rifle with any other bullets.

so I headed off to a different permission all confident that some longer range rabbits could be accounted for but only saw one, but I can confirm that eley are very deadly at 20 yards !
