Driven day clothing

Hi guys, I'm picking up a couple of driven days in Jan and have just been shopping around for some clobber. I've never done a formal driven day so don't own tweeds or anything, and I'm just pretty shocked at how expensive the brand name stuff is... £500 for a waterproof tweed jacket etc. After having a look around I found some really cheap stuff on Amazon :/

and, some slightly more expensive stuff:

I'm really no expert or anything, is this stuff going to be obviously poorer quality than if you were to buy some Musto for instance (silly question)?

What I'm really asking is, does anyone have any recommendations on some reasonably priced jackets in the £100-£200 range and matching breeks in the <£100 region. What do you guys wear for driven? Any other help and advice would be most appreciated.

Cheers.

Have a read of this.

A pair of mole skin trousers, check shirt, a green/brown jacket, posable jumper as it might be a tad cold, a pair of wellies and thick socks. But most important part is a TIE.

If you have a look around you can find a musto keepers jacket for £220. I know it's more but a great jacket/coat. I have one, water proof, importantly for me- has a hood, this is something not all do and is rip stop so thorns don't shred it like cheaper ones and has gotten. It is not the heaviest warmest I've ever had but is great quality, and with a fleece/ jumper keeps me toasty on the coldest days last year. You don't look like a plonker walking the dog every day or popping into the local.

countryhouseoutdoor Have them for 220, might find them cheeper still if you look

Thanks for the advice! Good to know I don't need to splash out on top to toe tweed and look a plonker... I already have the rest of it, just after the jacket still, any recommendations?

Hi Adam

Bit more info needed apreciate you haven't done a driven day before so just asking

Are you a Gest

Have you bought it as a single gun ?

Are you going with a group of friends ?

Why do you feel you would look a plonker in top to toe tweeds ?

The more info we have the better chance of avoiding you being out of place

As said above

Moleskins shirt tie coat should do

Although if you've paid a lot to join a team a quick call to agent on dress code wouldn't be amiss

All the best

Enjoy your day
