10gaugewannabee
i went up the local clay shoot at the weekend and did the usual bin collecting of shells but as some had been out in the rain or had become damp and so forth, i have just looked at them at home and they are spotting with rust on the heads they are in a pillow case on a radiator upstairs so what can i do to prevent rust spots? do i treat with oil or such when i collect them? but if i use any form of oil will that not kill the primer cases

Vince Green
great suggestion but how do you do that in winter?? or is shell collecting a seasonal job of in the summer time Yes basically thats right. Even a lot of plastic cases can have coiled paper base wads and once that gets wet you can never dry it out with certainty. Forget the rust, thats just cosmetic.
