I haven't been on for a few years, but recently got a new permission, only to find my 40 Flexicoys that have been stored in a couple of drums have deformed a bit and was just wondering if anyone else had had the same issue. I was thinking of sticking them on the airline and inflating them and leaving them for a while. Westley Posted December 8, 2015 Report Share Posted December 8, 2015 I used the dowel sticks that came with them originally, it was 3/8" dowel. Pull the base out, shove the dowel in then push the base back in. You may need to repair shot holes though ! I also used Tippex correction fluid for the white neck bands, still ok after some 6 years. I've got 40 odd to lug about, they're fairly hefty as it is with all the other clobber. missus's hair dryer might do the trick ? turbo33 Posted December 14, 2015 Report Share Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) I had ten and whilst more bulky, they were really effective. 40 would be un necessary imho. Get going and replace with real birds. If you cut off the original peg hole, you can pop a stick into the cured foam at different angles to represent feeding. I gave them a scrub, then turned the insert inside-out and filled them, very carefully, with boiling water and laid them on their backs on the draining board, heads in the sink and left them. They look like new! Just a quick bit of make-up with some Tipex (just the front one in the photo of them sitting on the edge of the worktop) and Bob's ya aunty........ (The single one is how badly deformed some of them were.)Personally I've found over the years turbo33 that most of the time 30-40 works best (especially this time of year), each to their own, and all 40 easily fit in my new Xmas present decoy bag, so no more heavy drums to lug about.
