Kia Sorento clutch

Isn't that a fairly standard condition? - assuming that it's the plates that have worn out as against the thrust bearing.

Hyundai happily sorted out my bearing for free, (and I was very happy to pay for new clutch plates to be put in at the same time, as the old ones were 3/4 worn)

Back to the dealer, (in the the eyes of the trading standards) EVEN if the car was OUT of warranty it is fair to expect a reasonable amount of wear before a mechanical failure occurs (which this certainly is not)

some dealers (I was a dealer) will chase the customer away knowing that they neither know the law or want a fight .... unfortunately this tactic works staggeringly well, in part because its a fuss to go to the trading standards agency and they need the car fixed quickly,.......TELL YOUR FRIEND TO PHONE THE TRADING STANDARDS FOR MORE SITUATION SPECIFIC ADVICE.

Thanks for this advice, dealership in question was very reputable but where bought out by a large group, all mechanics had left within 6 months so that gives some idea of what my friend is dealing with. Service receptionist rang to say it wasn't covered by warranty due to bad driving and knowing my friends driving style that simply is not the case at all.
