Scully
Finish building our permanent hide; choose cover crops for next season; plant more Willow to create wind breaks.
kennett
Get covers topped and ploughed, feeders repaired and moved for spring feeding, straw rides raked up and burnt, pens checked and repaired if necessary and a fair bit of woodland management to create flushing points and let light in to improve shrub layer. Written down its quite depressing!! Was looking forward to some time off
Konnie
Been out this morning collecting pens, rat bait stations, fenn traps from cover plots & some feeders ready to relocate throughout the farm ready for nesting.
scolopax
Bring in most feeders and move some others down hedges for spring feeding. Get some rat bait down where we can and set a few more tunnel traps. The pen needs some work but we will have to wait until we know when the forestry contractors are coming, half of our release wood is getting felled ! Maybe eventually build the ladder trap we have talked about doing for years. main job though is to ask our farmer very nicely if he will agree to rent us an acre for a game crop and also maybe put a wind break of canary grass alongside a spinney for another drive.
