decant sloe gin

Personally with sloe gin; decant anywhere between 6-9 months (needs a few taste tests on the way! :whistling: )

Usually run it through a muslin cloth (double layered) - you can also then let it settle and bottle it again to leave most of the sediment behind. You can then add sugar to taste (if not already added).

Either way I'm sure it will taste really good.

I was going to say the same thing - just greedy!

I've got about 4L of damson gin and a bit of vodka on the go. Gave up on sloe gin a little as I prefer damsons and it was too much of a faff to make any (I do have one Kilner on the go).

Need to drain/strain and QC it in the next few weeks.

I don't drink much so most get's gifted to people and I have Xmas requests already.

every cherry tree i have ever purchased has become diseased and had 2-3 cherries off them even netted. might be just me and the way i plant them. might take you up on some blackberries this year as thinking of doing a blackberry whisky for my brother. what were you thinking of doing with the pear, perry maybe?. i will be making 150 litres of elderflower champagne again, a little more than last year.

atb
