tomaddy525
Afternoon chaps, I've had my synthetic maxus for perhaps four years now and I fancy exchanging my current 28" barrel for a 30". I wanted 30" initially but the shop persuaded me otherwise. I can't seem to find anyone who has one for swaps or anywhere advertising their sale. Does anybody have any ideas where I'll be able to find one? Cheers
12gauge82
Try the wanted section but I wouldn't hold my breath, buying one new will obviously be very expensive although you may well get a straight swap.

Jaymo
I placed the same sort of advert in the wanted a section- but for a shorter barrel. Not a single reply so shelved the idea for now
tomaddy525
Actually, doesn't the barrel have the serial no. on it?
B25Modelman
Actually, doesn't the barrel have the serial no. on it? Yep....for £450 you can buy another barrel from a dealer. What number that has on it I don't know.
tomaddy525
Might just have to get an extended choke then!
ChrisPCarter
My Maxus Premium 28" came with a 2" barrel extension, half choked. Might be worth just getting one of those if your model didn't come with it?
tomaddy525
Handy enough, but not when i want to use 3/4 choke for pigeons and a special aftermarket choke for wildfowling!
ChrisPCarter
Handy enough, but not when i want to use 3/4 choke for pigeons and a special aftermarket choke for wildfowling! No not much use for that! Are there many longer extended chokes available for these? I've also got a Miroku MK38 with extended Teague chokes which fit my Maxus so I often use those with it but some other options would be good. They give about 2cm extra but some more like the barrel extension of a couple of inches would be good.
motty
Why do you want the longer barrel?
tomaddy525
Always find I point with shorter barrels, theres a noticeable difference in my shooting between a 28" O/U and a 30".. Plus the maxus is on the light side so a bit of extra forward weight will help me get in front of tall birds. Being 6'3 longer, heftier guns are not a problem for me
