kody
I have a sxs 20 bore and when opening gun the empty shells either just drop by my feet or sometimes don't eject enough so they only eject halfway out but works well with snap caps could it be weak springs
Underdog
Sometimes a rough chamber can grip cases. Polishing can help that. Some old guns can developed a very shallow ring where the metal head of the cartridge sits and a fired swollen case can grip into it. Other than that... matone
Try a few different makes of cartridge,it sometimes makes the difference, especially brass height.
subsonicnat
Springs and Timing are probably out, let Gunsmith sort it,He will find it no big deal.. I am afraid Most people would find it difficult at best..

Gordon R
Snap caps remain the same size when you fie, whereas a cartridge expands, creating more friction. I would try higher brass cases and also lubricate the ejectors in their slides.

Lord Geordie
Snap caps don't expand, and are heavier Than a spent case! If its ejecting the snap caps then I would say your ejectors and springs are fine! Try a chamber brush and clean out the chamber, if needs be pop the brush shaft in a drill and use some solvent to get the **** out of the chamber! Also check the chamber where it meets the face for any deformity. Dent, lip, bulge etc. It may just need a good brush to remove heavy deposits. impala59
Same problem on short head cartridges in pump guns, same cure, polish chamber, longer "brass"
kody
Well I noticed today that spent shells had a scrape mark around the head of the shell the case expanded when shot so making it a tight fit when ejected I plan to Rap some very fine emery paper around a wooden rod soaked in oil and give it a good clean around chamber the depth of the head of cartridge
