There I was sneaking along a fence line with a drop on the other side and then below me was a weasel.

It was working a mouse in the dry oak and hazel leaves. Turned the scope down to 4x and took a shot when it emerged for a second.

It wriggled away mortally wounded, by the blood, but by the time I got around to it had crawled down a mouse hole. Close but no weasel tail trophy!

The fresh earth is from my digging! The mouse was it's pray.

Being unemployed, again, means only one thing for a country bum like me. Rabbits!

Nice healthy looking rabbits there U, i am with fenboy when it comes to stoats and weasels, but when my father was a keeper, he trapped and shot hundreds!

Sorry to hear about unemployment but health and well being are more important, jobs come and go!

I appreciate that fenboy, old keeper taught me, ground nesting birds and all that.

I am not knocking those that do blast away

I guess as I seldom see them I don't consider that they could be causing a problem , no doubt I would think different if I was looking after a commercial shoot .
