Beagle boy
Evening all had a look at my dads shotguns tonight, there as above in poor condition but no obvious dents or dink I was wandering if anyone had any info? It's an old hammer s/s but I couldn't see any other information on it. Apparently I was my great grandad sold gun. Cheers rob
JJsDad
Clarke had various addresses over the years. You are not going to learn much without address details / serial number etc.
kaunda
There were a number of Clarkes practising in Leicester during the 19th Century, Edward, established in 1832 and at various addresses including Market Place,Gallowtree Gate and Hotel Street from 1834 to 1854. Louisa Clarke (probably a widow) at 20 Humberstone Gate from 1862 to 1864.Also in the 20th Century there are recorded Henry Clarke and Sons,in 1908 at 38 Gallowtree Gate, this concern apparently only ceased trading in 1963. I have a sxs pinfire 12 bore by Clark with Gallowtree Gate on the rib the date I would have put at 1860-65, Feltwad
