evening all ,

well i finally picked up my .243 win tonight , not had chance to use it so will have to wait till weekend ,

i did oringially go for a tikka T3 but changed my mind last min , ive always have sako centerfire rifles ( apart from and old 595 I bought second hand many many years ago ) but at the time went for the TIKKA , but no sooner as i left the shop i had changed my mind for no other reason than ............. I just know what the sako is capable of , NOT saying the Tikka is not, just more of a case of , better the devil you know I spose ,

anyway very very happy with it , the photos REALLY do not do the woodwork any justice at all !! . I will get some better pics later in the week

the rifle is a Sako 85 with a wildcat evolution sound mod , take no notice of the scope as I only put it on for the photo , I have some Night force glass coming by the weekend ,

thanks for looking

Why did you choose .243?

Genuine question, I've never had one.

I chose the ,243 as it one its deer legal , and I have a few muntys and roe to pop off , two its main use will be as a foxing rifle , I can use 58 grn hornady superfomance round that rock out around the 3900 fps maybe a tad faster , so it shoots as flat as my old .220 swift .

I just love the 243 win as its such a versatile round , everywhere stocks it , if I do my part it will drop any of the six deer species in the uk and its an amazing fox round , all I have to do is change the ammo according to what my quarry is ,

Nice one . What do you reckon on the mod? Lookin at one for a .223 thanks

not had chance to use it yet , however the build quality is simply amazing , and you have the added bonus of being able to change the internals so the mod can cater for as many calibres as you like ,

Sounds like a perfect choice. Start reloading and you'll get even more from it. I use the 243 from everything from fox to fallow and it's not failed me once.

Reloading and practice at ranges gives you the confidence that your ammunition is consistent and your drops the same.

Cheers mick .

Im going to use factory for a bit . Just to get a brass stock pile . And then i will go back to reloading . The accuracy i got from my last . 243 ( Ackley imp ) was outstanding . Even won a few comps back in the day . Just cant wait to get out and have a propper go with it and the NF glass .
