I hope this will encourage some nice line ups of what different people think will cover most aspects of rifle shooting..... so here is my line up as a starter for all UK shooting:

.177 sub 12ftLb Air rifle

.22 LR

.17HMR or maybe a .22 hornet

.223

7 08

But then there is the rifle to put NV on to for when the sun goes down .......... maybe that is:

.22 FAC air for the rabbits

22.250 for the foxes

.22 sub 12 ft lb air barns and rats / ferals

.22 lr rabbits, hares various targets of opportunity

.22 hornet rabbits, hares, fox, crows ( my main lamping gun)

.243 win ( fox, crow, deer other things requiring shooting)

I used to shoot a few bigger cals for deer but to be honest the difference is very tiny in regards to terminals 30-06,308,7-08 being the main ones

have FAC air on ticket but sold the gun on a "can borrow it if needed" basis I haven't in a number of years now

410 fun game and woodcock gun / general vermin and pot hunting, dog training and if I could get some more bismouth shells duck

12 bore crows, wildfowl

10 bore geese and "opportunity knocks" duck
