Firstly please let me thank all of those who have signed this petition.

I am not really a petition type of person but my eyes have recently been opened by the amount of eco mulch there is on line regards shooting on "The Bay"

Its hard for me to be dispassionate about "The bay" since I have shot it for 40 years, played on its shores, walked my dog, sailed, windsurfed, fished, swum, the list goes on and on.

Now a small band of people, most who are new to the area have called for a ban because shooting dose not fit in their picture postcard view of country life.

For years and years all the people that have used the bay have got on without any friction.

This small band of white settlers have and are still managing to use the internet and the local press to spread disinformation about the shooters using the bay.

This year one shooter found a person himself with a man in a hi-viz jacket behind him waving his arms..At the same time this was being filmed by a person in the bushes behind him.

To save me harping on please read the comments on the Ban Shooting on Findhorn Bay petition also on the petition site and you will get a feel for the rubbish that is being published.

Please also look at the video showing one morning of excessive shooting. The video implies that it is like this every morning, some mornings you can be all alone or just one or two shooters.Again this give a very one side impression.

I am not going to say its all roses, like everywhere we do get some shooters visiting that have no idea, wont listen to local advise and should of been drowned at birth!! You get the picture..

If you do watch the video and leave a comment, please be sensible and do not hand out any more ammunition to the sad misguided local minister!!!

That's my job...................

Anyway thanks to you all

Local Lad,

I like I suspect many who have signed this petition have never shot Findhorn Bay, but I am a Wildfowler of many years standing, I just hope if Wildfowling wins this struggle and if, as seems likely, a permit system is introduced, the local wildfowlers will remember our support and not try to negotiate away visitor access to the Bay!

From what I gather the chair of Findhorn bay LNR has proposed a permit system that will allow locals to shoot at will but visitors will be restricted to 4 guns per day and will have to pay for the privilege !
