Got my little .45 ready, I like a challenge so with the expected rain coming cracked on this afternoon. There was plenty rabbit to stalk and with just 20grn of fine black powder a card, a wet leather wad, a .440" ball and card on top I soon had one. The heavy down poor drenched me and the little dog but after sheltering a while to keep the powder dry it eased and I made my way back to the car. The rabbits were starting to come out again and on particular individual was sat out a good fifty yards away. I wanted the gun empty and have never shot this light load very far at all so thought what the heck. I stuck the front sight up high and squeezed the trigger, what happened next was amazing, I saw the ball bounce in front of the rabbit and then killed the rabbit. The rabbit had its tail to me. The ball hit its testicles first, entered the gut and stopped under the skin at its right shoulder. Just look at poor soggy Jess! The new fresh nettles are driving her mad!
