buze
So, I'm a little bit clueless about air-gunning, apart from the occasional plinking. Now, what seems to take /forever/ is reloading the magazines. Pellets are all in a bunch, and you need to somehow pick them, orient them and plonk them in. Tell me, someone MUST have invented something that takes a bunch, wiggle them around so the 'head' (heaviest) is downward, and allows you to serial-insert them in a magazine quickly? aga man
I would be interested in any ideas here too! Loading .177 pellets with cold hands is a real challenge, especially when you have hands like monkey's feet!
felly100
Just load the magazines while you're watching telly. If you're out on rabbits or some such, how many shots to you get off?
bluesj
would a primer tray do the job? Hang on I'll give it a try

chrisjpainter
In a word No haha. I enjoyed that. A mini adventure. As Felly says. Just load up before you go! a couple of mags, 20 shots. Either you're a shoddy shot or you've got one hell of a rabbit problem! What gun do you have? some mags are better than others for sure. team tractor
Just load the magazines while you're watching telly. If you're out on rabbits or some such, how many shots to you get off? Something in my head says it's illegal to travel with a loaded magazine even out of the gun. It's total bull **** I know but I swear it's true. We all do it tho . Edited April 13, 2016 by team tractor
team tractor
I'll add I always have single shot airrifles until I inherited my Superten 10 . In rookerys I can out shoot a magazine with a shot shot

chrisjpainter
TT you are correct. It is illegal. Yeah. sorry I should clarify. I do it because I can as walking out the door is being on permission for some of mine. But yes, if you need to travel then the mags need to be empty. One of the others I have is a 2 min walk, so that's a matter of walking the 2 mins, then loading up the mags.

malkiserow
Just stand them on the skirt in the groups after you weigh them Just don't let dogs or kids knock the table after you've sorted them out by weight
team tractor
Crikey,I didn't know that! But it doesn't count on firearms Basc recently told my mate it's legal to travel with the rifle (fac) out the slip with the bolt in on the front seat . But it's only on the way not way back .

It's a Firearm if any laws are broken, as any sentence will be issued as a Firearm offence. If it's on the way to your permission you have justification as to why you have said firearm out of a slip. But for me it's nearly always in the slip and mag in my pocket, unless I'm crossing a random from 1 field to another. With CF I never load until I'm on a perm, bolt is always separate too. figgy
Strip of leather like a soft leather dog collar with punched holes along both sides tight enough to grip a pellet then just push pellet into the loading port. Would work like a belt mag.

It's total bull **** I know but I swear it's true. We all do it tho .I've heard this from time to time. Does it perhaps mean you can't have bullets in a non detachable mag but surely you can have a loaded mag in your pocket? I'll try googleAndy Plenty of forum threads on the subject but can't find any legal links. Might ask basc tomorrow, see if they have a definitive answer Andy Edited April 14, 2016 by Doggone
