You'd struggle getting a tank in it, no spare wheel well, the boot is a foot deep and even if you could fit one underneath, (I don't think there would be room) you'd lose a load of ground clearance, banging a pressurised gas cylinder on a rock wouldn't be fun either.

Could probably be done but I wouldn't bother personally.

They're really not bad on fuel, if you get one of the later ones with the vvti they're much better than the old ones, but it's about as aerodynamic as half a brick so it's never going to be amazing, never worked out exactly what my mpg is but it has never frightened me, sure it gives well over 30mpg happily, people that say they're heavy on fuel are probably revving the nuts off it, it has a quoted top speed of 87 so really you don't want to be doing much more than sixty, you can but you'll empty the tank fast, and it's not a huge tank either, costs less than forty quid to fill it.

Seen a few for sale with Lpg. Had a Lpg car my self, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Your get less mpg on Lpg. The car will still use petrol to start up. Unless your doing a lot of miles not really worth it. + you lose your boot space. I had a 330i on Lpg paid £1200 for a conversion and was a lot of hassle ended up programming it my self engine management light on not ticking over nice down on power as well . You also have the issue of finding some where to fill up as not every where sells Lpg I had a tank at home so not to bad. If you do go ahead make sure you read up on where you get it done as there are a lot of cow boys out there that don't know what there doing. Took me about a year to make the money back on the conversion.
