Maybe six years in? On mine - will run it on till it dies beyond repair. Thus far I haven't changed a part and those are six years of fowling very regular. Foxing and general vermin and walked up game.

Chucked into the truck hardly ever in a case and mostly in the wet and mud

Yeah I love mine, light, durable, reliable, pointable and looks good... Win all around I think Enjoy it!

Which variant have you gone for?

Hi its the black shadow in three half inch chamber,i used it sunday on clays,it shot fine as usual missed some, hit some,i find it a tad low in the comb so will have to look at changing the shims,a mate has a benelli he shoots really well with,he had a dozen or so shots with the sx3,never missed one,i need to put my silver pigeon away and shoot the sx3 and get used to it.Up to now its all positive, its had around 250 cartriges threw it not had a single miss feed as yet so hopefully will serve me fine.

Exactly the same for me ... I've put about 500 -600 through mine now and not a single misfeed/jam ! So easy and light to pick up in the hide and very easy on the shoulder! Was torn between this and a Beretta A400 Xcel but would never sell this Winchester now or question getting the Beretta. Best gun for the money I've ever owned.

But its all personal preference at the end of the day...

Mine has always had an odd refusal to cycle on light loads sub 28 grams - but only about one in hundred mostly less than that

Had a few remmington super mags not fit through the port but that's remmington making them too long

Put four boxes of kents through it yesterday on clays, not a problem,in fact i found it more accurate than my silver pigion,up to now all positive.

  • 1 month later...

I have used the sx3 for the last six weeks or so,i have to be honest its the best semi auto i have ever owned, cant find anything to complain about,it must have had well over a thousand shells through it with not a jam or miss feed, and the bonus is my shooting has improved no end,so anyone thinking of buying one.go for it.in fact i was toying with the idea of later on in the year buying the one with the red action,it comes with long chokes and a nicer finish, lets hope the gods will shine on me :good:

Great to hear you're getting on well with your SX3. It will serve you well I've no doubt.

Throughout my years with mine, I can honestly say that, everytime I've taken it out the cabinet to use, whether that's on clays, pigeons or wildfowl, the worry or thought of my gun jamming has never once entered my mind...I have full confidence in the gun.

Thread say's SX3, from what I see the BIG GULF is that he M2 is twice the price, read the review's.

They both hit with the same force if using the same cartridge, one's from the USA/Belgium the other's from Italy.

GT40 beat's Ferrari come's to mind.

You pay your money you get your choice.

Enough said.

As I said, I didn't want to hijack thread but after being in the market for getting an auto and having an m2 secondhand and a new sx3 at top of list I was just curious if it's worth paying 2-300 more for a secondhand m2 after reading all good reviews on the sx3. Didn't mean to disgruntle anybody.

I try them for fit. I had a SX3 and it was a great gun but didn't fit me very well regardless of how I shimmed it. Yet my M2 fits great, as for shooting the SX3 is softer to shoot being gas operated. The M2 needs very little cleaning compared to gas autos.

The main reason I switched over to an M2 was the cleaning. Gas operated are a pain to clean, especially if you're like me and insist on cleaning it after every outing. M2 is spotless apart from the barrel, and has very few moving parts compared to a gas operated. Love my M2!

Im the opposite and not massively religious in cleaning so maybe the m2 is the one ha. I like simplicity in things anyway and the m2 is better looking.
