mickyh
I've got a BSA Mercury in bits, it needs a piston seal, a piston (rubber) spacer and a breech seal. It is missing a rear sight, other than that its in pretty good condition minus a bit of paint from taking it apart. I don't want to spend hours bringing it back to its former glory. It did fire but was very stiff to cock, I think the original piston seal had swollen up, very hard to remove the piston. Date is 'Z' Will it have a value in bits? hyflier
Yup, it might be a little work to get this sorted but the jam is likely to be caused by the piston seal and buffer washer corroding. I would try to repair it, forget the rear sight, if indeed you can find one it will be expensive, made of bakelite and extremely brittle....... put a scope on it instead. Piston washer set £7.06 Mainspring £10.82 Plus P&P Source: https://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=1&id=24693&Search= If you're really unlucky and need a cocking lever, ask me I might have one. mickyh
Very kind offer, but the rifle belongs to a work colleague. He wants shot of it and I have no interest in buying it from him. Nice in its day, but I've moved on. I'll probably put it in the sales section wnen I get some time later today. But many thanks.
