.25 as a hunting pellet

It has its uses. For short ranges - in particular rat work around buildings - they're great, because they pack a huge punch, but the relatively low velocity imparted onto a large pellet limits the likelihood of over penetration. Beyond 25-30 yards the loopiness makes it harder to judge aim points. Each to his own, but I'd only use one for relatively short range work

thanks gents, i might swerve this one, i need to take rabbits and pigeons out to 50 yards ideally so therefore will hang on for a .177 or a .22

cheers

for that range and at Sub12? absolutely give it a miss and go for a .177, although I'm somewhat biased as I'd never go for a .22 now! What part of Dorset are you from? My girlfriend lives there so I've spent many happy hours crawling behind caravans in the fog along the A35
