Two Days Two Different Cartridges PART 1 & 2

I met George late on Saturday morning at a discreet location in the Northamptonshire countryside.

He gave me loads of cartridges in exchange for cash and then threw in a couple of boxes of something he hopes to put in to production soon.

The shell in question is a 32g fibre wadded 5 1/2 and George wanted me to try it over long distances.

I drove to Wansford and set up on a recently seeded sugar beet field.

I put out a pattern of Pigeon and Crow shells and waited.

Just before the storm in the picture above I shot and plucked a 35 yard woodpigeon, far too close for Georges new shells.

I then set abot the Corvids and was shooting them at 55 yds plus.

The storm got worse so I packed up, happy that Georges shells had been tested over a good range.

Here are a few of the dead corvids.

Part 2

Today, I took Georges 28g shells to a newly drilled pea field near Cottesmore. I set up against a tall hawthorn hedge with the wind from my right.

It is a large field so I had to place some bags in areas I didn't want them to land in.

Som cracking sport was enjoyed.

Hedge

The 32g were great on long rangy corvids, they are not in production yet, these were hand loaded to get some feedback for George.

Hopefully others who received them will add to the thread in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading.
