Are your shooting skills lacking?

Recommended Posts

BASC is running a series of events to help people improve their shooting. The day will cover all the theoretical aspects of poor shooting, followed by mainly hands on activities. Looking at Shooting Skill, subtending, range judging, field craft, patterning and Shotgun Coaching. The BASC Shotgun Coaches will be on hand to cover stance, gunfit, eye dominance and provide coaching to all clients.

We currently have vacancies on 3 of the days
15th July in Nottinghamshire
6th September in West Kent
13th October in Gloucestershire

Booking details can be found here http://basc.org.uk/sporting-services/basc-training-courses/improve-your-shooting-with-basc/

Many thanks, Peter

Do you get a certificate and badge for the £85 or £120 on completion?

You get an attendance certificate, access to Coaches, State of the art Shooting Simulator and tea and biscuits. A full day of activities, all to help you identify and correct any issues you may have. We have just run a similar event in partnership with the GWCT and the Coaches quickly identified the shooters issues and put remedies in place. Most of the guys had simply mis-diagnosed their eye dominance, they had the wrong stance or gun fit. All simple things, but often a significant amount of work is required to remedy the problem.

Have you seen anything Re: ShotKam?

My friend bought one. It is a gun mounted camera that you zero to the gun. A red reticule is imposed on the videos taken, so it shows the clay flying and where the gun is pointing (I wont say aimed!).

The camera has WiFi so the shots can be viewed on a SmartPhone or tablet in real time.

The camera has a G sensor and switches on as the gun is loaded and closed, then saves the video footage as a few seconds before the shot and a few after. Each shot is therefore it's own file for downloading, viewing and analysis, hopefully to help guide improvement.

Perhaps a potential future Next Step for the coaching days?

See ShotKam.com or ShotKam.co.uk which have game and clay footage showing what the camera can achieve.

Regards

Martin

I have seen one and used one just recently

It is very good, a really useful tool for Coaches and Guns alike.

The one I used was American, I am currently awaiting details.

At the moment the technology we use is the ST-2 Shooting Simulator. I have seen the ShotKam online, but not in the flesh. We really should get one into test.

Thanks, Peter

Well worth a look Peter.

You also get a lot of help and guidance before you get the Certificate and Badge.

Those with open minds will get something very useful and pertinent to their specific requirements from the day

This is a great course I'm sure, many so called pigeon shooter could do with a freshers course, to remind them how important hide safety is and to follow simple protocol whilst shooting that keeps everyone safe.

Regards.

Hi Ben

There is an 'Introduction to Woodpigeon Shooting' on the 2 October in Richmond. This is run by our coaches, so there will be an opportunity to get some coaching and shooting advice.

Many thanks, Peter

Already booked on it! Looking forward to it
