Fenn Trap Ban July 2016

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Apologies if this has already been covered, but I was wondering what people's thoughts were or if they had any further information on the prospect of us losing the Fenn Trap in July this year?

My sources:

Many thanks,

FM

If you read the * at the bottom, the legislation only applies to certain species (stoat, badger, otter, beaver and pine marten) since I am yet to see a fenn trap big enough for a badger it shouldn't affect many of us. Incidentally, how do you set a fenn for rats or squirrels but exclude stoats?!

Fenn traps will not pass the new standard, here is link to Canadian approved traps, all designed to catch head/neck.

Closest in Uk is BMI Bodygrip traps but like fenn they target wrong way of killing but the DOC traps should get approval easily enough
