DrBlox
I've made "my own" Pimms *for years* (actually after clearing out my late grandmother's house and finding an old bottle from the 40-50's that was 32% ABV) using a recipe of: 2 parts gin 2 parts red vermouth 1 part orange curacao Now, I make quite a bit of sloe gin, but [heresy]I'm not that great a fan of it[/heresy] - I prefer the "slider" and "slerry" made fro the steeped berries. SO what to do with the gin? Playing around last night, I came up with "Slimms": 2 parts sloe gin 2 parts dry vermouth (the driest, best quality you can find - it's still alright with Tesco own brand) 1 part orange curacao. This, is a very nice, summery drink (with lemonade and seasonal fruit garnish). But even better was the "Slimms Royale" which was *amazing* and comprised: 1 part "Slimms" 1 part triple sec/Cointreau Ginger ale to taste
