Off to Africa

Only one week to go now before leaving Somerset in the heart of the beloved EU ( :whistling: ) to Bloemfontein to shoot pigeons, geese, ducks and franklin. Inspired by the bags of PC and driven by the lack of pigeons over here thought I would try for a few bags over there. I have been warned that the second shot is the hardest as the birds jink all over the place. Better make sure my first shot is in. Looking forward to the experience through Richard Mumford cant wait and bag is half packed.

Anyone been? Tips are welcome.

Hopefully there is some sort of internet and I can keep you posted.

Enjoy but take plenty of ear protection as that Mumfords sons are canny chanters but their singing may wear a bit after a while

Enjoy yourself and watchout for crawly critters in the bush.

If it is a similar set up to argentinia and depending the size of ur bags expecting, possibly i'd ask if u can hire a Semi auto 20g, be lighter recoiling so u can enjoy ur whole trip.

Know/have heard off folk going out to arg and having a cracking 1st day but injuring they're shoulder so much with recoil firing a normal OU and not enjoying rest of week just as much

Enjoy it. Bloem is about 5hours from where I live. Which airport are you flying in to?

Most places and private houses have WiFi, just chat to the owner. Not all places have large data bundles so just check before you stream anything.

In South Africa we have warm days and cool nights. Last July my wife was in the UK (Devon) for a wedding. It was 17'C over there and 31'C here in winter so maybe pack longs, boots, short and long sleeve shirts and a nice warm jacket for early mornings and sitting around the fire at night.

Bloem is a decent sized town so don't stress if you forgot anything.

Enjoy your Pound, it goes a long way against our rand.
