Guest
Hello all, I have a nice beretta that I dote on, and since using it for some serious agricultural pest control for the farmer recently it's been getting covered in poo and generally smashed about. Sounds like a good excuse to buy another gun to me. Do many of you keep a second gun as a workhorse? And if so what? An old semi auto, a hard as nails pump, or an ancient sxs? Guest
Excellent. How much use do you get from each? Does your shooting suffer as many people say, from jumping into different guns? How do you decide which gun you will use on any given day? Edited May 22, 2016 by Guest

tx4cabbie
Got a semiauto that's all plastic so I don't mind it getting wet/dirty etc. Greener gp is light, costs less than a ton so dings don't make you cry, and drop the lever and it's instantly unloaded and visibly safe. TIGHTCHOKE
Hello all, I have a nice beretta that I dote on, and since using it for some serious agricultural pest control for the farmer recently it's been getting covered in poo and generally smashed about. Second Gun I think there are 15 or 16 in the cabinets so far. I have the competition gun, a few pumps, a few semi-autos, including a short barreled one for the hide, a few SxS's and of course a nice one for special days. The single most important thing to remember is that it or they MUST FIT YOU PROPERLY!
Wingman
I bought an old Browning Auto5, but having spent many hours restoring it (thanks Wraivi your a legend!) and refinishing the stock I now treat it more like one of my best guns! Had a few knockabout side by sides, but didnt really get on with them too well so am looking for a cheap OU like a Baikal to use when I plan to get muddy... tomaddy525
Get something synthetic... My maxus goes under the hosepipe after a flight in the mud!
Danger-Mouse
Bought a cheap 2nd hand pump to use "in the field" but I now have a Hatsan Escort Magnum that I use instead. Bought that new but as it`s synthetic and cost under £300 if it gets wet or dirty or takes a dink it won`t worry me. It`s actually become my "go to gun" and as often as not I shoot clays with it too now.
ozzy518
I have a Beretta Extrema 2 as my go to gun.
Nmb
I have an old side by side for when I'm out on the shoot as nothing worse than a hoodie crow sailing past or a fox skulking about when out feeding!
figgy
An old baikal OU or cheap semi auto would be my choice. But as Tightchoke said it must fit you. I have guns that I make excuses to use so I'm thinning out my cabinet, too many don't help your shooting so buy a cheapy that fits and enjoy yourself. fitzy
I had a similar dilemma. Solution was to contact Wabbitbosher. The workhorse should be arriving tomorrow.
