Alright

Does anyone know off a site that has charts showing wot different sized diggers can lift?

(Even ball park figures as i realise alters with boom position/*buckets etc)

Been googling different combination of above title and not really found much useful info, tried plant hire companies but can't really get a clear answer or a site comparing different sized diggers.

I got some info trawlig throu digger brochures for new machines but not entirely sure i got the weights right, there actually lifting far more than i thought they could.

Needing the smallest size to lift about 1.5T (big concrete 'lego' blocks) to a height of about 3m, but fairly close to machine.

I thought i'd need around a 12-15T machine but some of those brochures had an 8T machine lifting 3T ish, which i was surprised by

i think there are fairly strict laws on lifting with 360's........at one time all buckets had strop eyes...but now you dont see them............for a digger to be rented out for the purpose of lifting it will have to come with "certificates"......check valves...and in date and tested lifting strops

time has moved on since i was in the game so there will be other boys on here with up to date imfo..........

what about using a teleporter instead........

Cheers ditchman.

Have thought about a handler but quite a tight area and need a digger anyway to dig banking out and be a bit more maneroverable

Job is just for myself, so not saying i want to be dodgy/unsafe but some of the certificates would not be neccesary.

Can mind working on a pipeline job many years ago and the boss had major problems getting the right tickets and written work thingy's for 13T machines lifting pipes off the trailers, the digger drivers said it was a lot of BS as machines would of coped nae bother. In the end diggers weren't allowed to slew with pipes on, jus lift of trailer and we drove away in tractor

A 13t 360 will lift 1.5t 3 meters of the ground but it it would be a lot easier with a bigger machine and to do it within the safe working load limit you would want a 20t plus machine. I work in ground works and we are lifting concrete pipes and pre formed concrete manhole all the time. To lift and place 4.5 T manhole we use a 25 or 30 T 260

Cheers folks.

Thats more wot along the lines that i originally thought.

Looking to buy a machine for the job and a few other jobs, was originally thinking a 8T machine and hiring someone in to do banking but might just go whole hog and buy a 13T and can do the whole job myself, pretty much the same money anyway 2nd hand

Must admit i looked at some of the brochures and hey had smaller machines lifting some pretty heavy loas
