Do Crows Hold Funerals for Their Dead?

I don't think so but penguins do, being a very gregarious and very family motivated species when one of their number dies they dig a hole in the ice with their very tough feet/claws. Then gather around the ex penguin and sing. Freeze a jolly good fellow then kick him/her into the hole and fill it in.

OK I know it should have been in jokes but the devil made me post it.

Hat and coat on.

Try shooting one with a 22 rimfire with sub's from a well hidden position on a windy day so they don't hear or see anything apart from one of them drop dead. They go absolutely mental they hover over the top of the dead one cawing like mad.

+1

But I always thought they were trying to call it back to life. Magpies join in too
