wokkywokky Posted August 23, 2016 Report Share Posted August 23, 2016 I am looking for a digital camera that has been converted for infra red pass through, however I am slightly confused and need some advice. I have found a camera on flea bay and it is listed as follows: Canon Infrared IR Digital Camera - Buyer can 470, 550, 670, 720 or 850nm Filter I don't know what I should be selecting. Can anyone with experience in this field shed any light on this for me? The usage I will be putting this to will be on a rimfire for bunny bashing. The camera will be mounted to my scope giving me the ability to record shooting and provide me with eye relief (I have tried out Zetters NV kit, cant remember the setup, but looking through the eyepiece for long periods makes me feel woosie). I have had a look at that camera and its just the camera unit, I will require a screen and battery back to go with it. My plan is to use an all-in-one compact camera that has had the IR filter removed. You will waste your money mate, KPC e700 is the way to go.We all headed down the route your heading and wasted £££'s, you can have a all in one unit with the E700, you dont have to have the screen halfway up the rifle.Sticking the camera you mentioned on a rimmy will not provide you with a clear view beyond yous quarry (backstop is more important to view when shooting with NV) ps parts will cost you £85.00 excluding a IR torch (£24.99) Edited August 23, 2016 by Davyo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What I can remember:Camera-sure24 3.5inch screen -ebay 12v battery-ebay (little blue one, Comes with charger) Project box-ebay Floplast tube-screwfix in packs of 5 Little odds and ****. I soldered mine and put spade connectors to link it all up I case I broke something Tube of araldite from halfrauds Think it was around £91 plus the torch at about £30. I can see eye shine at 350 yards easily. If you need help just pm and I'll do what I can! Davyo Posted August 23, 2016 Report Share Posted August 23, 2016 or for power supply you can get a project box mounted on the rear of the screen, with 2 x 18650 batteries in with access to recharge.
