I was under the impression that these had no memory and I always keep them topped up. Up until this week the few foxes that I've shot have been in daylight. As the evenings are pulling in, this changed on Wednesday. I was lucky to drop the vixen as I could only just be sure of my shot and was kicking myself for not charging the batteries for the X Searcher before I went out. Put them on charge when I got home and to my surprise they clicked on to green almost immediately. I figured this couldn't be right, put them back in the torch and left it on for some 90 minutes. Recharged and went out last night (well, until it threw it down) and the difference was phenomenal - I'd forgotten how bright then are. Lesson learned, it might just pay to give a healthy discharge on occasion.

I only use nite-core battery's in my night mater venom strike, but in my T-38 and T-50 that are single cell I use battery's I scavenge / salvage from laptop battery's other wise going in the bin. I have 15 so far.

But toady the IT guy gave me another battery to pull apart, its got 9 Panasonic battery's in it :good: I separate them out and charge them( smart charger) and put a multi-meter over them mark them with the voltage and 24-48 hours I test them again to see if they have dropped any charge, bad ones normally show 2v and less but anything above 3v seem to work fine and have lasted me a year now.

I have to admit I just keep topping mine up but reading this I may do some good dis charges and recharges.

Any others I get in the future that salvage okay am happy to give away to anyone local if they want to collect as I have more than enough now !

We like salop sniper had an old lenovo lap top battery broke it open got 6 out of it, they went in all six of the torches we got, again they are around 3 volt and all are fine 9 months on now, yet the laptop was vertualy 5 mins on a full charge with the battrey :hmm:.

Not got a smart charger bought the cheapest charger off the bay we could it just plugs in the truck cigar lighter charges one at a time, takes about 20 25 mins perhaps before the red light goes out. Not tested battrey life as in timed it but these lights seem to last a very long time in use to me. and im not looking for another charger, only problem i have with it it seems to get pretty warm on the socket plug area, but its fused so im ok with it, its not burst into flames yet.

hello, there are so many to choose from and looking at a lot of reviews from digital to led types i have just ordered this 252503153986, with 2 free batts , it is worth noting i always keep an eye on when charging. i have also ordered a 18650 battery checker non digital.

note my old charger came with a kit about 4 years ago and became faulty and can be dangerous so binned.

Don't bite my head off but I saw nothing in the listing about two free batteries?

This was written near the bottom of it:

Package included:

100% Brand New Multi-function Intelligent Universal Rapid Charger

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These a very highly rated, giving constantly updated information of the charge status in each cell.

I bought a used laptop battery the other day for £5.00. Reclaimed 6 batteries out of it and put them in my torch charger. When finished charging they were registering the following voltages on my multimeter.

1 = 3.99v 12 hours later 3.88v

2 =4.03v ..................3.90v

3 = .96v ...................3.85v

4 = 4.02v ................3.89v

5 = 3.97v ...................3.87v

6 = 4.08v ...................3.97v

I will test them again tomorrow and discard any that are losing significant voltage but all looks good so far and a cheap way of getting genuine quality batteries.

I will test them again tomorrow and discard any that are losing significant voltage but all looks good so far and a cheap way of getting genuine quality batteries, just as long as I don't accidentally short any of them and start a nasty, almost uncontrollable, fire as they probably don't have the in-built protection circuits that the single cells will have.

Fixed that for you.

Of my 9 I harvested last week 6 are perfect and I have 3 left to test.

Sunday I went lamping using some I reclaimed last year and they didn't let me down and are still going strong.
