JDog Posted August 31, 2016 Report Share Posted August 31, 2016 This afternoon I had some time out with Mightymariner, fresh from ten days in Norfolk. All he could talk about was how many pigeons there were in that county. We had a late start. However there were birds on stubbles but they were very well spread out. I chose to go to one spot and he chose to go to another position two fields away and make a bale hide. As soon as he was set the tractor and trailer turned up to clear the bales. I chose not to set up but to stand behind a single ash tree and shoot the return line. We both had some good sport. Two of the pigeons I shot were very young and I chose to cook them this evening with some 28 day matured fillet steak. Both were truly delicious and tender and there was little to choose between them in the satisfaction stakes, apart from the fact that I bought the steak and the pigeons were screamers on a return line.
