aga man
After firing several hundred shells through my old trap gun this summer, the bottom ejector seems to be sticking occasionally. When the gun is opened after firing there is sometimes a delay of a good few seconds before the shell ejects. When it does eject is clears the shell fine. Can anyone suggest what may be happening? will stripping the ejector and spring etc and cleaning cure it? The gun is a 30 year old Parker hale made by Franchie i believe and has had very little use for its age. Cheers.
CaptainBeaky
Can anyone suggest what may be happening? will stripping the ejector and spring etc and cleaning cure it? Quite possibly, and is the logical first thing to try.
Dougy
Try some 800 grit wet and dry and polish it up.
Gordon R
Possibly rust or debris making the ejector stick in the slide. Strip it, clean it and use an air line to clean the slide. Bit of lubricant and job sorted. Parker Hale - 700 series.

Gunman
Could be - 1 cases expanding into chambers , try a different case . 2 Ejector timing needs to be regulated . 3 loose forend. 4 gape insufficient . By all means clean and oil but I would suggest one of the three above is more likely the problem .
aga man
Just an update chaps, i stripped and cleaned the ejectors, which weren't too dirty to be fair. Lubricated and made sure everything was sliding smoothly. Tried in the house with snap caps and it seemed better but after 6 goes it did the same again. I think as the man above has said the problem may lay with the forend. I am just going to live with it for now as it is only intermitent. If it gets worse it's off to the gunsmith. Thanks again. subsonicnat
Would hate to have an intermittent problem, would always be thinking,When will it happen.?. figgy
I think it will be your ejector timing is out. Or the cocking rod is worn to the point the gun needs to be fully opened before the ejector trips. Had a AYA over and under like this years ago.
