Sticking ejector

After firing several hundred shells through my old trap gun this summer, the bottom ejector seems to be sticking occasionally. When the gun is opened after firing there is sometimes a delay of a good few seconds before the shell ejects. When it does eject is clears the shell fine.

Can anyone suggest what may be happening? will stripping the ejector and spring etc and cleaning cure it?

The gun is a 30 year old Parker hale made by Franchie i believe and has had very little use for its age.

Cheers.

Just an update chaps, i stripped and cleaned the ejectors, which weren't too dirty to be fair. Lubricated and made sure everything was sliding smoothly.

Tried in the house with snap caps and it seemed better but after 6 goes it did the same again. I think as the man above has said the problem may lay with the forend.

I am just going to live with it for now as it is only intermitent. If it gets worse it's off to the gunsmith.

Thanks again.
